I was a little nervous about trying printed pants until I stumbled upon these uber-chic ones from Forever 21.  They have this very 70s chic vibe that I adore about them.  They flowed about on this breezy day which made the pictures kind of fun.  The shoes, Lauren Conrad for Kohls, are a bit high for me but I couldn't resist this pretty summer platform.  And my tank is by this gorgeous Australian line, Something Else by Natalie Wood.  I love the contrast of the geometric shapes filled in with the pastel watercolors.. pretty.  Happy Friday, all!

I think pink is THE color for the summer.  Hot pink is so fun and really adds a punch to any outfit.  And I feel so girly when I'm wearing it!  I even wore pink lipstick and I am usually just a lip balm girl.  I did a large cuff with these pencil leg jeans by j brand for a daytime look.  You could uncuff the jeans and put on some heels to take this to nighttime.  Top it off with a leather jacket, too, if it is a little cool.

DAY TRIP

Peyton and I took a last minute trip to Oak Glen today to visit her great grandpa and my mother, who is in town visiting.  Here's what I wore.  Oak Glen is nestled in the mountains, but can still be very warm this time of year.  I was country inspired with this outfit: My obsession with denim, cute ankle booties, and a canvas tote.  We spent the day enjoying the outdoors & some delicious sandwiches with grandpa.  Mom and I took Pey down to the local Curios store and candy shop for some new pink minnetonka booties for Pey and a peanut butter mountain bar and iced tea for me and mom :)  This Lauren Moshi tote doubled as a baby/mommy bag perfectly!  Turned out to be a lovely Monday.

STYLE Q&A: NADIA

My beautiful friend, Nadia, agreed to do a little photo shoot and q&a sesh with me today.  She has an effortless seeming style which I really admire.  She always look fantastic!  We had fun taking pictures and she enjoyed answering all my little questions I had for her :)  Her q&a is at the end of this post!  Enjoy!

 J:  How would you describe your style today?

N:  Hmm.. Comfy and on the go!

J:  Any current obsessions?

N:  Shoes my forever obsession.  But currently I am obsessed with the denim on denim trend.  And chambray shirts!!  I feel like I can't have enough of those.

J:  Who's style do you love?

N:  Elin Kling (blogger "stylebykling").  Love her minimal but edgy style.  Oh, and Olivia Palermo!!  Love her.

J:  Favorite stores/website to shop at?

N:  Stores: Zara, Allsaints, thrift stores occasionally and Amelie of course :)  Online: Zara & Allsaints, again.  Shopbop, Nastygal, Asos, and the Outnet for shoes!!

J:  Any favorite makeup/hair/beauty products you currently use that you can rave about?

N:  I can't live without under eye concealer and mascara!!  I use urban decay concealer which I love.  Mascara I've stuck with the same one I've used since HS.  The pink and green tube from Maybelline.  For hair.. Dry shampoo!  From Bastiste.  And I can't do dry skin.  I have to moisturize every single day... face/body.  Especially right out of the shower.  I LOVE LOTION!!

J:  What would be your perfect getaway spot this moment and what would you be wearing?

N:  Paso Robles.  It's mine and Justin's favorite place to get away!  We're huge winos.  Haha.  It's such a great place to go wine tasting and just relax.  And since it's warm up there right now I'd be wearing denim shorts, a basic loose tee, my Jaminson DV botties, sunnies and my new Panama hat that I just got and can't wait to wear :)

J:  One trend worth trying this summer?

N:  I'm not brave enough.. But if you can.. Print on print!

This is the kind of outfit you will find me in most days.  I live in shorts in the summer.. I kind of have an obsession.  I am used to hot summers.. I grew up in Fresno.  So a 105 day would be normal.  Ekk!  Now living in southern california, it's so nice to have great weather.  It's 81 degrees today.  Perfect for these cute, slouchy cutoffs and a casual striped tee.   I need to note two more things: 1.  The 'cami' underneath is actually a Lulu Lemon sports bra! so cute, right?  ..and 2.  I had been looking for a sandal like this for awhile, but I felt like all the ones I tried on made my big feet look even bigger.  But, I came across these Steve Madden ones (on sale!) and really like them :)

Peyton enjoyed playing outside while mommy took pictures.  I scored on her little shoes from  Old Navy.  $1.94 on clearance.. unreal!

can you tell i am excited for summer :)  I'm looking forward to lounging around in a swimsuit with a yummy cocktail and enjoying the sun!  how will your summer be sweet this year?

BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND

My super comfy oversized tee is from a line called Boyfriend/Girlfriend,, an adorable collaboration between designer Rachel Pally and her long time bf!  Sadly, I believe the line has been discontinued (at the least the girl's clothing).  The tee is very large so I balanced it out with a slim cropped pair of white denim (they have an awesome pinkish hint to them!)  I put on these great neutral wedges that make me super tall, not like I need the height.. i'm already 5'10", ahh!  But anyways, back to business!..  A boyfriend look can be tricky.  You don't want it to be too sloppy, so add a heel or wear some bold jewelry.  You can incorporate a masculine style while keeping a feminine look.  Trust me, you don't want your best friend to point out that you and your significant other are "twinsies!" because your outfits are identical.  Haha :)
